Stipules foliaceous with 1-4 leaflets, sometimes absent on immature stems or sometimes shed before leaf has dropped; floral bract narrowly ovate-lanceolate to deltate and generally gradually narrowed toward the apex, (5)6-12 mm long, descending to strongly recurved, subequal to exceeding pedicels of larger flower buds, mostly persistent with the mature flower; seeds gray
