Characteristics
This genus honors Alvan W. Chapman. Although it would seem that Art. 60C.4 (McNeill et al. 2012) might apply to its spelling, the practice of doubling consonants was not uncommon (Brummitt & Taylor 1990: 305) and the spellings of genera are less often "corrected".
