Description Occasional small tree 3-6 m tall, leaves dark green above, paler beneath; acorns narrowly vertically striped.
Habitat Dry mesic upland forest, open roadside bank dominated by Juniperus virginiana, Prunus serotina, Quercus imbricaria, Eupatorium spp.; top of roadbank.
