Description Bush with large yellow blooms growing up to 7 ft.; flowers are white to pale yellow when young turning a deep yellow when mature; (hypothesis on fertilization; the pistil is 2 in. to 3 in. longer than the surrounding stamens, and hangs over the edge of the petals; the interior of the bloom is moist, with pollen adhearing; when bloom is touched it easily falls off carrying with it, in tact, the entire androecium; when falling the sides of the bloom or the over sized anthers come in contact with the stigma thus pollinating the plant; remaining 8 in. stigma and style gradually rot behind the advancing pollen tube and falls off leaving the remaining ovules to mature).
