Description Common tree to 3-4 m tall.
Habitat Slough, associated with Betula nigra, Juncus effusus, and Cephalanthus occidentalis.

Locality USA. Florida , Wakulla Co. : Apalachicola National Forest. Along National Forest Raod 309, ca. 1 km W of it junction with FL 267. 30° 18' 5" N 84° 25' 59" W
Description Small tree 4 m tall, 6.5 cm in diameter, ca. 5 years old; Leaves relatively longer, narrower, and definitely greener below than no. 64878 Salix caroliniana, but noe lack of stipules which are usually found in S. nigra.
Habitat Low area with tall forest of Acer rubrum, Nyssa biflora, a few Taxodium, very few Pinus, the understory of Vaccinium corymbosum, Cyrilla racemiflora, and Cartrema americana.
