Description Common.
Habitat In deeper portions of a small, shallow flatwoods marsh; growing with such species as Nymphoides aquatica, Rhynchospora tracyi, and Panicum hemitomon; most common in parts of the marsh with the least amount of vegetative cover.

Locality USA. Florida , Wakulla Co. : Apalachicola National Forest. W of Crawfordville on a road taking off perpendicular to US 319, thence 3.7 mi. to the pond on the left; this is beyond Arron (Pelt Cemetary on the left). 29° 43' 32" N 84° 58' 60" W
Description Pond cypress [Taxodium ascendens] pond, with scattered trees throughout, none of them paricularly tall, but most of them with spectacular buttswells, th latter to ca. 3 m above ground level. The pond is presently dry save for a few small pools of stagnant water, the soil is sandy in the higher spots and mucky-peaty in the lower ones. Much of the pond surface is bare because of vehicular traffic, but considerable areas around the trees free of such traffic and with low herbaceous vegetation.
