Description Locally abundant; long leafy stolons; petals not seen; stamens postmature, brownish; summit of ovary dull green; stems and calyx lobes tinged with a dull purplish-rose pigment; leaves flat green, darker adaxially; stems spongy basallly.
Habitat Assosicates included Rhexia virginica, Euthamia minor, Proserpinaca pectinata, Xyris iridifolia, and Eleocharis microcarpa; thinned-out floodplain forest, with Alnus serrulata and Cyrillia racemiflora.
