Habitat Glacial boulders, humus; clay-loam soil; mesic to wet-mesic floodplain forest, currently not able to flood (land-locked); with Acer saccharinum, Juglans nigra, Quercus spp., Asarum canadense, Dentaria laciniata; shaded; surrounded by Lindera benzoin.

Description Rather common, robust erect, clumped perennial sedge, perigynia inflated, spikes green.
Habitat Alluvial soil; low level areas in wet open ground; general area has virgin forest; wet-mesic floodplain forest dominated by Quercus, Celtis, Carya spp., and Acer saccharinum; understory includes Carex spp., Laportea canadensis, Senecio glabellus, Saururus cernuus.
