Description Clustering palm to 1.5 in total height with ca. 10-12 spirally arranged palmate leaves per stem, the stems prostrate; petioles 80-95 cm long x 1-1.2 cm wide with saw-like teeth, adaxially channeled and abaxially rounded, hastula present; leaflets 32-34, the middle ones 50-62 cm long x 3.1-3.2 cm wide, the basal leaflets 30-34 cm long x 1-1.2 cm wide; androgynous inflorescence branching to 3 orders, with a 15-22 cm long peduncle and a 65-78 cm long rachis, bearing 7-8 primary branches; fruits black, 2 cm long and 1.5-1.8 cm in diameter, the seed 1.5 cm long x 0.8 cm wide.
Habitat Coastal sand dunes, nearly flat, with surrounding dunes; soils deep, white "sugar-like".
