Habitat Edge of low hammock in floodplain; associates include Quercus lyrata, Carpinus caroliniana, Magnolia virginiana, Nyssa aquatica, Rhapidophyllum hystrix, Sabal minro, Vitis rotundifolia, Ampelopsis arborea, Campsis radicans, Mitreola petiolata, Boehmeria cylindrica, Diospyros virginiana, Asclepias perennis, Hydrocotyle sp., Samolus valerandi.

Habitat Associates include Taxodium distichum, Acer barbatum [A. saccharum], Carpinus caroliniana, Sabal minor, Vaccinium elliottii [V. corymbosum], Euonymus americana, Halesia carolina, Cercis canadensis, Toxicodendron radican, Bignonia capreolata, and Lonicera sempervirens.
