Description Slender, 1.5 m tall, to 0.7 cm in diameter, branched only above; bark reddish brown, smooth to flightly flaky; flowers bright yellow.
Habitat Flat, dominated by Pinus cf. palustris, with some shrubs; with Ilex coriacea, Cliftonia monophylla, Hypericum microcephalum, and Lyonia ferruginea.
