Description Had been introduced here as AREC 5432 from New York Botanical Garden in 1952, plus several other introductions. Now persisting as a weed around the bases of trees. Shrub to 2 m tall; corolla strong reddish-orange, the lobes spreading to 4 cm wide.

Description Shrub to 2 m; leaves densely pubescent on both sides, petioles pubescent; corolla tube 2 cm, corolla 2.5 cm wide, scarlet red; stamens exserted 2.0-2.5 cm from corolla tube; fruit 0.7 mm wide.
Habitat In rockland hammock, in center of hammock.
