Description Abundant, thousands of slender culms her to 13 ft. tall, covering hundreds of square ft. (also observed along E side of street), escaped and persisting and proliferating.
Habitat Neglected streetside at edge of woods remnant; with Quercus hemisphaerica [Q. laurifolia], Prunus caroliniana, and Magnolia grandiflora.

Description Leaf blades dark green above, slightly paler below, ca. 2 dm. long, 2.5 cm. wide; sheaths persisting on 1st year stems and on branches for 1 year; culms to 4 m, dark green, to 1.5 cm diameter, unbranched and with leaves only at apex 1st year, in 2nd year.
