Habitat Deep yellow sand scrub on high ridge; associates include Bonamia grandiflora, Carya floridana, Cnidoscolus stimulosus, Dalea feayi, Paronychia chartacea, Polygonella myriophylla, Quercus myrtifolia, Sabal etonia, and Selaginella arenicola. Soils - Tavarres (Typic Quartzipsamments).
