Characteristics
Dicots
Pithecellobium keyense Britton ex Britton & Rose
FLORIDA KEYS BLACKBEAD
**
Pithecellobium guadeloupense (a synonym of P. unguis-cati) was often misapplied to this species (P. keyense) (Isley 1972). Isely (1972) stated P. keyense and P. unguis-cati could not be distinguished based on any one morphological character, but it rather relied on a combination of characters, with some specimens suggestive of limited introgression.
